On March 6th, my husband, my puppy and I will go to the Macedon Ranges to enjoy the long Labor Day Weekend. This journey has been entitled the Woodend Trip. The selection for the trip isn’t based on the distance from home (just very close, less than 1 hour by car), but rather WHAT I want to photograph. The focus of the trip is to take interesting photos of the mountainous region.
It is a long weekend, and as such we will have three days to make the most of our trip. So, other than photographing, we will have to make plans as to what we want to do. I mentioned a couple of things in a post I made earlier this week, but here is an evolving list of activities around the area.
Parks
- Visit Hanging Rock (There is fictional historic novel of murders @ Hanging Rock; it was made into a movie)
- Jacksons Creek Reserve
- Gisborne Gardens
Food and Wine
- Vanilla Slice @ Bourkies Bake House.
- Gisborne Peak Winery
- Paramoor Winery
- Mount Macedon Winery
- Hanging Rock Winery
- Mount Towrong Vineyard
Outdoors and Trails
There likely is more to explore, but I really haven’t found anything. Of this list, we will need to see what we want to do. Some of these might be doable with other activities, such as doing a trail while confirming the photo locations.
