Bernardo Brandao – Photographer

Current Camera: Nikon D610
Most Used Lens: Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G
Favorite Photo Subject: Landscape photography
Born in Brazil, I grew up mostly in Rio. My mother was a “stay at home mom” for most of the time I lived with her and to pass her time she started investing in photography. My siblings and I would be the main subject of most of her photos, as a way of documenting our childhood. From time to time, we would open up the shoe boxes full of photos and look at them, or go through the many slides we had of our vacation trips. It is a very nostalgic exercise to go through old photographs.
After I grew up and moved out, and at some point moved to Australia, I did not have my life and events photographed as often. In 2015, I bought a small DSRL Nikon D3300 to start documenting what I would find interesting in the many trips I went on. I eventually ended up taking photography to more than trips; I began taking my camera everywhere I went.
Today, with a more advanced camera I try to make the most of it. I love experimenting (not always successful experiments) and am always learning. My successful and relevant results will end up in the site; the pre-work, execution and results will go on the blog.
Bernardo Brandao Photos is a site to showcase my achievements as a photographer, and allow people to contact me in case they need one. The blog is my photography journey: the why, when, where and how I take my photographs and what the results are. It is about me trying to discover new ways of looking at everything and bringing the reader along with me.
