Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense

PG Wodehouse’s most famous bon vivant, Bertie Wooster, decides to stage a one-man show revolving around his recent visit to Totleigh Towers. Things take a turn for the worse when he is unwittingly called on to play matchmaker, reconciling the affections of his host’s drippy daughter, Madeline Bassett, with his newt-fancying acquaintance Gussie Fink-Nottle. Bertie realises he needs help and, as always, enlists the assistance of his trusty valet, Jeeves.

One of literature’s most famous comic duos reunite for a rollicking end to our theatrical year.

Hollow Crown


The Hollow Crown traces the history of the British monarchy from William the Conqueror to Queen Victoria. Author John Barton has lovingly stitched together excerpts from plays, songs, speeches, letters and general gossip down through the years to tell the succession story in a light-hearted, whimsical and vastly entertaining romp.

English theatre royalty Sir Ian Richardson said of it: “every member of the Royal Shakespeare Company – present, past, or passed-on – has participated in it at one time or another”. We’ll be adding some WLT royalty to that list!

Rabbit Hole


Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. Rabbit Hole charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day.

Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire has crafted the most serious, simple but painstakingly beautiful, dramatically resourceful, exquisite play.

Things I know to be True

Is unconditional love absolute? Or is there a step too far? This touching, humorous and brave play is centred around that dichotomy. Over a year, each member of an Adelaide family deals with truths that impact their life. “People aren’t perfect. Even the people you love. Especially the people you love.”

A family torn apart can reunite. But not always as expected. Andrew Bovell‘s beautifully written play weaves many threads that may make us consider our own attitudes and biases..

Handbagged

Moira Buffini’s hilarious play reimagines the private conversations that took place between Queen Elizabeth II and Margaret Thatcher during their tenure as the UK’s monarch and Prime Minister, respectively.

Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, the play cleverly explores their complex and contrasting personalities, political ideologies, and the collision of monarchy and government. With a touch of satire and sharp dialogue, “Handbagged” presents a delightful, quirky look at the intersection of power and gender, as well as the historic events that shaped the era and the United Kingdom’s destiny.

The Father

Christopher Hampton’s translation of Florian Zeller’s masterpiece provides an intimate glimpse into the disorienting world of André, an elderly man grappling with dementia.

Set in his Paris apartment, the play artfully blurs the lines between reality and confusion, inviting us to experience the world through André’s eyes.

The play is a powerful exploration of the impact of dementia on identity and relationships, taking a profound and sometimes disconcerting journey into the human mind’s fragility.

Agnes of God

Summoned to a convent, Dr. Martha Livingstone, a court-appointed psychiatrist, is charged with assessing the sanity of a novitiate accused of murdering her newborn.

Mother Miriam Ruth, the Mother Superior of the convent, is determined to keep young Sister Agnes from the doctor, further arousing Dr Livingstone’s suspicions.

Who killed the infant? And who fathered the tiny victim?

Livingstone’s questions force all three women to re-examine the meaning of faith and the power of love, leading to a dramatic, emotionally charged and compelling climax.

Continental Quilt

Mike, about to settle in for the night with his girlfriend, has his plans disrupted with the arrival of his brother, Dick. Thrown out by his wife, he’s seeking shelter rather than going home to Mother.

Both Mother and wife soon arrive, along with girlfriends past and future, the neighbours seeking guidance or quietness, and of course, Father, who thinks he is getting away from his wife but not knowing she is also already there . . .

Lies, cover ups, transformations and scheming all make this little romp some good . . . almost clean . . . fun
