History
On Friday 13/03/2020, my husband and I boarded an A380 towards LAX to then catch another flight to Orlando. The plan was to spend 15 days between Orlando and Miami to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family. Before I boarded the A380, I already knew my father had chosen not to go to Miami as he was in the risk age bracket.
After we were flying to Orlando, the Australian Prime Minister started a policy to force quarantine on anyone who entered the country after 15/03/2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We were already overseas and would not make it back in time, so we decided to make the best of it.
As theme parks, stores and other services shutdown in the US, our decision was focused on spending time with the family, even though there would be nothing to do other than talk to each other.
My husband suffered an accident and broke his right foot. The Australian government closed its borders and all international flights in and out of the country were being suspended. We hopped into the next available flight back to Melbourne, arriving on 20/03/2020 and self quarantine.
Project
This project is to document my survival of the forced quarantine that the Australian government has imposed on me for returning to Australia, from my 40th birthday trip, on 20/03/2020.
Through my 14 days of quarantine, I will take one or more photos every day. The purpose of these photos is to show how the quarantine has affected myself and my husband in our daily activities. Dean has a broken foot and we will both be working from home during this period.
This project will show the difficulties of living in a small environment with two people.
All photos taken for the project were using my new Sigma 20mm f/1.4 (my birthday present). It is a most adequate lens for the type of environment and lighting conditions that the project will proportion.
