A lot has/is happening in my personal life. The (little) photography I have been taking has been quite personal an not made for internet consumption. This is the reason I have not published much here. I haven’t even published my usual retrospective of the year (which I’m hoping to do later this week).
I have, in this period, worked a little in photo restoration, but the season was about staying close to friends and family. Today marked my return to my day job, and will probably mark the return to my photography work (fingers crossed).
I need to plan my goals for 2023, will push for 6 goals, even though I didn’t really achieve that many last year. I think it’s important to have goals, even if you don’t achieve them. As I am not a full-time photographer, my day job and personal life unfraternally take precedent over my photography activities. Now that major changes have happened in my life and it looks like I will have some months of respite, I may put some drive into doing some photography.
There is a holiday coming up in two and a half weeks. The holiday falls on a Thursday, which allows me to explore a long weekend. Maybe I can organize a long weekend away looking for photo opportunities (Great Ocean Road or Mornington Peninsula maybe). I will try to take it as a long weekend if I can plan the weekend away. Watch this space.
The first post of the year is of a self-portrait I took. I look very serious and pensative, but there is nothing really causing this other than the “back to work blues”. It is a self-portrait photos because I’m the easiest target for photos and partly because I miss that project.
