It doesn’t seem like it’s already been a year, but it has. I have photographed myself almost every week in the last 53 weeks (I skipped one calendar week and pushed the completion day one week forward) as part of my Self-Portrait project.
The project clearly documents my evolution in dealing with a situation that I really didn’t want to be in, but had no choice (the alternative was worse). I coped with the situation and normalized myself in the “new world” I was in. I still live with fragments of the rupture, mainly because the problem hasn’t been fully dealt with, just pushing decisions and actions forward (not what I wanted, but how I have to deal with it).
I have had a lot of help along the way, to make who I was into who I currently am. To all who were there, thank you – I would not have been able to be here the way I am without your help.
So here I leave you with the closing shot of the project: “A Different Man”.
